CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Sam is a self-taught independent conceptual and digital artist whose creative journey began with drawing as a therapeutic practice. He honed his craft professionally at Digital Works Khmer as Game Artist and 2D Digital Khmer Artist Lead, later contributing to Cambodia’s evolving game and film industries. For the past three years, Sam has flourished independently, crafting versatile works across contemporary art, animation, comics, book covers, and conceptual design—infusing each piece with resilience, cultural insight, and visual storytelling.
BRETT HARSTON
WRITER & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Brett is an educator, writer, producer, and director with an international career spanning theatre, film, and television. An author of several books and screenplays, he champions the transformative power of storytelling—particularly in arts education—and is dedicated to elevating Cambodian voices on the global stage through projects like Skinny Fish with Phare. He holds teaching qualifications from Massey University and a BA in theatre and film from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
OSMAN KHAWAJA
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - PHARE PONLEU SELPAK
Osman is Executive Director of Phare Ponleu Selpak and Chairperson of the Phare Performing Social Enterprise board. With over 12 years of non-profit management experience focused on arts education and organizational development—and a prior decade in international hospitality—he brings global perspective and deep commitment to nurturing Cambodian artistic talent. He holds a master's degree from the Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management and has lived and worked across Asia, Europe, and North America.
